Green gardening with organic fertilizer. Late in the Fall, I harvest the water lettuce from my small fish pond and duck weed growing in a half-barrel to use in my raised beds as an organic fertilizer layer over my fallow garden soil to compost adding nutrients during the winter months. Using non-treated grass clippings is also an option (and more readily available).
