We installed Laticrete’s Strata Mat over top the wood subfloor using 4XLT modified thin-set mortar.
Laticrete recommends leaving a 1/4″ gap between Strata Mat and walls.
We used a 3/16″ square notch trowel to apply 4XLT to the wood subfloor. It should be mixed per the directions and to a thin consistency specifically formulated for Strata Mat.
Once Strata Mat is installed use a grout float to compress it into the subfloor. Also fill the top portion of the Strata Mat and let that dry overnight.
Apply Hydro Barrier to the corners of the shower and main bathroom floor. It’s very important to be generous with Hydro Barrier.
Then embed fleece into the corners followed by fleece over the main section of the curbless shower pan. The fleece should overlap the Strata Mat.
