– 1-inch oak dowel. Get a 1-foot length for the handle.
– 1/4-by-1 1/2-inch oak slats. Get a 4-foot length for the 9-inch side rails
– 1 1/4-inch drywall screws
– 1-inch trim-head screws

– milk paint
– antiquing wax
